Residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I inspect the concept of appetite as I paint vibrant and absurd scenes and portraits of the human spirit clashing against the natural world. We dominate the wilderness and our environment faster than we can understand its powerful reactions, and as technology accelerates human progress at breakneck speeds, I explore and interpret our destructive and aloof relationship to this mysterious world we inhabit. In my work I attempt to capture the natural beauty, humor, and wonder intertwined with the struggles and sorrow around us. My surreal paintings are always untouched by computers - as technology escalates, so does my desire for traditional mediums of expression. It is my refuge from the oversaturation of new products and devices.
